Are You Ready To Throw In The Towel?
They say 80% of people quit their New Year's resolutions by mid February. EIGHTY percent. That’s more than three quarters of people. When you made your New Year's resolutions three weeks ago, I bet you promised yourself you would not be a part of that statistic.
I’ve been there before. I’ve been in that 80%. Keeping to your goals is hard. Commitment takes work, accountability, planning, and a lot of other things that are hard to fit into our busy days.
This year, I promised myself I’d make my goals a priority. I got my shit together and forced myself into that 20%. Am I perfect? No. But I’ve stuck to them for 21 days, and I’m not dropping out anytime soon.
These are my best tips avoiding becoming a statistic and for actually achieving your goals this year and becoming the version of you you’re desiring to be.
How to stick to your nutrition goals this January.
Goals? Resolutions?
Call them what you will. Either way, they’re hard to stick to.
“Kale? Kombucha? Superfoods?
Are these things truly going to make me healthy?”
Trust me when I say, these were my thoughts when I started my clean eating journey, too. Committing to a “clean” lifestyle was a major challenge, and if i’m being honest, it still is today. When we talk about a “clean” lifestyle, we mean one free of harsh chemicals, fake additives, and added sugar. I’m sharing what a day of clean eating looks like for me, in hopes it can inspire you that a few small changes could ignite a big, big transformation.
6 Gifts to Invoke the Warm-Fuzzies in Your Loved Ones
The holidays give me all the feels. Feels of warm and fuzzies, feels of the chilly weather coming in (at least a slight temperature variance in San Diego), and picking out the perfect gifts.
Well, let's be honest, in the past, I've been guilty of showing up with generic gift cards and bottles of wine.
But this year, my goal is to invoke the feeling that the gift is giving more.
Lace Up The Sneakers & Pass The Stuffing.
It’s easy to tell ourselves “Thanksgiving is only one meal,” or “I deserve to enjoy my Thanksgiving dinner.” And it’s true. You have the right to enjoy this once-a-year, rich and savory meal followed by a soft, sweet slice of warm pie.
The question is, is it really one meal? Do you find yourself snowballing the whole weekend and end up off your game?
5 Tips for Motivation and Dedication When it Comes to Your Goals
October is an interesting month. It falls (no pun intended) between September, a month typically associated with new beginnings, and November, a month typically associated with the downfall of those new beginnings. You probably invested a good amount of time and/or money into the endeavors you started in September, so why let November get you “off the wagon”? Here are my top 5 tips for staying motivated and dedicated to your goals to prepare for the temptation months.
My 33RD Year in Review: 5 Lessons Learned the Hard Way
So much of life and what we are called to task on is TOUGH stuff. If we get the chance to throw our heads back, blow out some candles in the company of loved ones, celebrate another day above ground, it would be sacrilege to waste that.
I learned more lessons from 32-33 than quite possibly the cumulative. This is my year in review.

How to Finish What You Started
Have you ever had a project swirling around in the back of your head that seems way too far out of reach? Or you don't think you are qualified for the gig?
Well, that was the case when I wrote my book a couple of years back. I knew I had the facts and knowledge to share and could offer ways to help others achieve optimal health, but how the heck are you supposed to sit down and write a book? And then there was that little voice of self-doubt - aren't there way too many diet and exercise books on the market already??
10 SECRETS TO STAY SLIM THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
Family feasts, the office Christmas party, neighborhood drop-ins, tasty, edible gifts… the temptations of the holiday season are all around.
While I think it would be nice if people gave magic circles, dumbbells, and yoga mats as Secret Santa gifts, apparently not too many feel like I do. High-calorie sugary treats seem to be what the office Santa enjoys delivering.
Fortunately, you don’t have to struggle to zip up your party pants with these ten holiday stay-slim secrets.

When you live in Southern California it can be tricky to sense the seasons changing. We have the same climate year round and football isn’t really a big ticket item out here (I know, crazy right??).
But I was sitting with my friend Steph over coffee today and we were chatting about all the recent shifts and changes we had both been experiencing. She’s a rockstar marketing chick and I’m in the health & wellness arena, so what were our commonalities with seasonal shifts?
We made the best of our time in the cocoon.
